Dreamer and Visionary

Angela J Murray I am a dreamer and visionary striving to make the world a better place. I was born in Hackensack, NJ and relocated to Florida at age 3. I have lived in multiple cities from Central to South East and West Florida. I currently reside in Sarasota with my husband and our fur babies. My educational history includes various degrees in fine art, psychology and therapeutic modalities. I have formal training in various modes of creating and have continued lifelong artistic learning.

For more than 34 years, I dedicated my career to serving children who experienced abuse and neglect, along with their families and the child welfare community. Creating art took a backseat during this time. In July 2022, I retired, but my travels across the globe and throughout the United States enriched my collaboration with other artists and sparked my creativity. Now, as a retiree, I focus on uplifting the world through soul-shining artistry while continuing to volunteer and contribute to my community. My commitment to making a positive impact remains strong.

My love of nature, music, people and animals is transparent in chosen subject matter. I am drawn toward emotions, dynamic movements, powerful imagery and balance. I focus on the simplistic beauty of the shapes, colors and composition found in nature. I love the pure realistic imagery in photographs and other media used. I also explore the emotional intensity that digital manipulation can evoke, continually pushing myself to evolve and experiment with looser and more abstract forms.

I am excited to learn, grow and evolve as an artistic creator, surrounded by the incredible beauty and talent that Sarasota has to offer.
